Bumble and Bumble Color Minded is a shampoo that is super super mild, cruelty-free and contains no nasties that will strip your colour. The difference between Bumble and Bumble and Kerastase is that we only needed to wash our hair once with Bumble and Bumble for it to feel really clean – so we used less product which more than makes up for the pricey cost. Reviewers say:

“I love that this doesn’t strip my color like so many other shampoos I tried did. It feels so natural and that’s you’re really looking after your hair and color. My hair is fine and this doesn’t feel too heavy.”

“Amazing. One of the best shampoos in my view for colored hair. Leaves the hair so light, and with an amazing smell. I have highlighted hair, and very coarse and thin. This is the only shampoo that works for me.”

“Protects hair colour and improve shine like nobody’s business!”

We say:

We are long time lovers of Kerastase products and anything that contains Keratin is a must for dry, damaged hair. This isn’t an everyday wash, but with coloured hair you shouldn’t be doing that anyway.

Fine hair may find it heavy but we found it perfect for moisture-starved locks. It smelt like a spa and foamed up well in our hands as we massaged it in.

The difference between Kerastase and Bumble and Bumble shampoo is that it didn’t make our hair feel as clean as Bumble and Bumble and we had to wash our hair a couple of times to get it feeling really clean. Because of this, you’ll have to buy Kerastase shampoo more often than you would Bumble and Bumble.

Overall, our thicker hair felt well moisturised and in soft condition. Not sure if it kept the color as well as some of the other shampoos in this list, but over time, with better condition hair, hair dye should start to last longer. It’s a no for fine hair though, this could be too heavy.

Pros

  • Great for thicker hair.
  • Softens and moisturises.
  • Kinder to color.
  • Volume and shine.

Cons

  • Too heavy for fine hair.
  • Need more product to get hair really clean.

“This does the job of preserving the hair colour really well. It’s sulphate free so it’s not sucking the goodness out of my hair like other shampoos.”

We say:

The Bumble and Bumble Color Minded Shampoo is one that’s ideal for all hair types and one for those with fine hair as its super super gentle. It’s pricey but worth it if you want to make the most of your hair colour.

It’s quite thick and creamy as a shampoo goes, but it lathers well so you only really need a small amount. It smells fresh but subtle so it’s not overpowering. It only took one wash and rinse to make our hair feel squeaky clean, so it gave a better result than Kerastase in this way.

Big thumbs up on this one from hairdressers too who think it is the best shampoo for coloured hair as it contains no nasty sulphates that strip your colour and dry your hair. This won the battle for us for gentle color cleansing that left our hair feeling soft and supple.

Team it with the Bumble and Bumble Color Minded Conditioner for the best results.

Pros

  • A little goes a long way
  • Works for all types of hair
  • Kept the color lustre
  • Hairdressers recommend it
  • Cruelty and sulphate-free

Cons
