Hi, I'm Stephanie Johnson. I'm a salon owner, educator, holistic scalp specialist, and product developer specializing in hair restoration for women.

My Passion For Beauty and Hair Care

With over 25 years in the beauty industry, my journey has been filled with hair, fashion, makeup, and skincare.

I've dedicated my career to empowering women of color with the knowledge and skills to maintain healthy, beautiful hair.

My Professional Journey

I started right after high school in Detroit, MI attending beauty school to fulfil my lifelong dream of being a hairstylist.

After gaining invaluable experience in the hair salons of Detroit, I ventured to the West Coast, expanding my skills in San Diego and Los Angeles. Working on TV sets, magazine shoots, and hair shows, I learned how various factors affect hair health.

Specializing in Hair Care

Moving to Washington D.C., I studied Trichology and was mentored by a top holistic product developer who guided me into starting my own hair care product line. In 2000, I launched The Hair Care Company Salon and launched my own, all-natural product line in 2005.

A Focus on Education and Development

Today, I spend time servicing clients in my salon and creating content and courses for my YouTube Channel and The Hair Care Company Training Website, where I educate and empower fellow professionals.

I've always been driven by the desire to educate women on proper hair care, especially focusing on challenges faced by women of color.

Today, I'm delighted to share my expertise on Coloured Hair Care. Here, I'll be your go-to expert, fact-checking and ensuring all our content is scientifically accurate and easy to understand. Thanks to my expertise in dermatology and trichology, the science of hair and scalp health, I can share insights on preventing common hair and scalp issues. I'm happy to guide you through the intricacies of maintaining optimal hair and scalp health.

Personal Life

Outside of the salon and website, I'm an avid reader, a sci-fi movie enthusiast, and a lover of fine foods and wines. However, what truly brings me the most joy is spending quality time with my family and friends.
